All this stuff is going to take a lot longer than people think and many people want. Its not likely that we will have enough affordable oil to get us there without a lot of people suffering economic hardship.

Shoving EV's down our throat while exporting the last of America's hydrocarbon resources strikes me as a nation that doesn't have much of a plan for the long term.

The problem about the future is that is very hard to predict. That why as we get older we need to have stuff like insurance policies, and savings accounts...just in case. If in the end we saved more than we needed at least our kids have a little bit more margin for error in a very uncertain world, a world that will always need hydrocarbons.
