I found this blog because of a link inserted in one of Robert Bryce's excellent articles on intermittent energy. The article linked above caught my eye because over the last year the Permian Basin has been inundated with Cuban illegal immigrants holding commercial drivers licenses. These Cubans are really bad drivers and have caused numerous accidents in the area.
If the Cuban power grid goes down and then the Cuban municipal water supply, I imagine that Florida will soon experience a human hurricane!
No; that was not a good idea.
The three legs of the stool called industrial civilization are oil , metals and electricity . Time to revisit '' the Olduvai theory '' by Richard Duncan . Electricity and 100 years of IC .
Good afternoon John and Mike.
This news reminds me of the early 1980s exodus at the hands of Castro. The numbers are to great to be "escapees".
Mike, you specifically asked me some "why" questions regarding the masses a bit ago. Situations such as described here are endemic worldwide and should evoke deep individual reflection and not simply emotional responses of pity and holding open the door; picking the lowest hanging fruit.
History is or should be a great teacher. Sometimes history is just facts not narratives. What makes it history is that it happened before this very moment. You write about history daily. Most people grow to appreciate or even acknowledge history when it bites them in the butt. But one thing is for certain; history repeats itself or, in the words of Solomon, "there is nothing new under the sun".
I guess if they're coming this way they better get, before 1.21.25.
